Privacy Notice

This notice describes the information collected when someone uses Sedgwick County Busted Mugshots, what that information supports, and when another party may receive it. By continuing to use the site, a visitor accepts the practices described here.

Information You Submit

Terms Entered in Search Tools

A name, location, or other term entered into a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates the tool. This site does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s policy governs its handling of the query.

Emails and Other Messages

If you send an email or submit a contact message, we retain the information needed to review and answer it. We do not disclose that message outside the organization unless the law requires us to do so.

Technical Data Collected Automatically

Ordinary web systems may record limited technical and usage details when a page loads. Those details can include:

  • The visitor’s Internet Protocol address.
  • The browser name and version.
  • The device class and operating system.
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them.
  • The referring website, when available.
  • The date and time of each request.

Cookies

Cookies help show how visitors use the site and support some site functions. Most browsers allow users to block or remove cookies. If cookies are disabled, certain features may work differently or may not retain a preference.

How Information Is Used

Collected information supports a limited set of operational purposes:

  • Operating the site and keeping pages responsive.
  • Sending search requests to the selected partner tool.
  • Learning which pages and resources visitors use.
  • Finding errors, abuse, or other technical problems.
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests.

Privacy Beyond This Site

Links may lead to the Sedgwick County Sheriff, Sedgwick Combined Court, Colorado VINE, CDOC, federal locators, government request pages, news outlets, or outside search services. Colorado sheriff records may be handled under the Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act, C.R.S. §§ 24-72-301 through 309, while other public records may follow the Colorado Open Records Act, C.R.S. §§ 24-72-200.1 through 206. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination’s own privacy practices apply.

Advertising companies may use their own technologies to recognize activity across multiple websites and tailor ads. That processing takes place in those companies’ systems, not in this site’s own record collection.

Parties That May Receive Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may still pass to these parties when needed:

  • Search partners that process a submitted query.
  • Analytics providers that measure site use.
  • Advertising networks that deliver ads.
  • Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order.

Reasonable Security Measures

We use customary safeguards intended to protect information in our control. No website, storage system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed fully secure, however. We cannot promise that a breach, loss, or unauthorized access will never occur.

Visitors Under Eighteen

This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted information, a parent or guardian may use the Contacts page to request its deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and the data we actually hold, a user may ask to:

  • Receive a copy of personal data held by this site.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete personal data that is eligible for removal.
  • Opt out of certain forms of processing.

We may revise this privacy notice as the site or its practices change. A revised version takes effect when posted here and will carry a new effective date.
